For the video I can see all of them are hardware transcoding. Taking HDR to SDR tone mapping out of the equation though, as I type this I have 5x 4K SDR streams being transcoded down to 1080p at various bitrates (Not sure if version caching is a thing so I just opted to make them all different transcodes) - tvOS, iPadOS, iOS, MacOS and Safari web client and the CPU is at 40-50% utilisation. Maybe upping the buffer settings would help give it a head start? I dunno. ![]() ![]() 1x Tone mapped transcode and 2x SDR transcodes though and it handled it. A third of these and it started buffering. So I went for worst case scenario and all of this is transcoding 4K down.ĤK HDR, Tone Mapping and Transcoding both audio and video down to 1080p or varying bitrates.
